Comments: comments are open on every guide on this site. If your question might help other readers working on the same job, that is a good place to ask it.
What we are glad to hear about
Corrections and safety reports. These come first. If a figure on this site is wrong — a capacity, a weight, a derating, a procedure — please tell us, and please be specific about which guide and which number. Anything affecting safety is treated as urgent. How we handle corrections is set out in the Editorial Policy.
Guide requests. If you came here looking for something and it did not exist, that is useful to know. Tell us what you were trying to work out.
Questions about a guide. If something is unclear, ask. If a guide left you unsure about something load-bearing, that is a fault in the guide.
What we cannot help with
We cannot diagnose your vehicle or approve your lift. We cannot see your hoist, your engine, your concrete, or your setup, and a wrong answer here can hurt someone. For anything specific to your vehicle or your equipment, please go to your service manual, your hoist’s load chart, or a qualified mechanic. See the Disclaimer.
We cannot tell you whether your specific hoist will hold your specific engine. Your hoist’s own load chart is the authority on that, and it is the only one that counts.
For brands and retailers
We get outreach from manufacturers, tool retailers, and PR agencies fairly often, so a few notes to save everyone time. We only cover products we would genuinely put in front of someone doing the job — equipment gets tested or researched against the same standard as everything else on this site, and coverage is never guaranteed in exchange for a sample or a fee.
If you have a product you think belongs in a specific guide — a hoist, a jack, a torque tool, diagnostic kit, whatever — email us with a spec sheet and, if it exists, independent test data or certification. We are not able to review unsolicited products without that information, and we do not accept payment for placement or for favorable coverage. Our stance on affiliate links and how funding works on this site is covered in the Affiliate Disclosure.
For anything else — partnership enquiries, licensing a guide, or press requests — the same email address reaches us: hello@drivetoolkit.com. Please put “Brand enquiry” in the subject line so it does not end up mixed in with reader questions.
Response times
This site is run by a small team, so replies are not instant, but here is roughly what to expect:
Safety reports and corrections: these are reviewed first, usually within 48 hours. If a figure is confirmed wrong, we aim to correct the live guide as soon as possible and note the change per our Editorial Policy.
General questions and guide requests: typically within 3–5 working days. Detailed technical questions can take longer if they need checking against a manual or a second opinion before we reply.
Brand and partnership enquiries: usually within a week. These are reviewed in batches rather than daily, so please avoid sending follow-ups inside the first week unless the enquiry is time-sensitive.
If you have not heard back after these windows, feel free to send a polite follow-up — messages do occasionally land in spam.
